2010 Luncheon

We had a great turnout for the luncheon this past Saturday. The food was great and im sure everyone had a great time. A big thank you to Vicki Kendall for making the very cute Kewpie dolls and for setting up the luncheon. She created the dolls and the box. It was a great surprise to open up the packages and see such creative work and such a cute doll. Little Tony's was a good location and the food was excellent. She also hand made the grand prize the cloth Kewpie.

Our outgoing President Sandy Page presented her former officers with parting gifts. She hand made each doll specifically for each person. Im sure these will be a very treasured memento. Sandy was also presented a Bleuette that was made and painted by Vicki Kendall and the clothes were made by Betty.

2010 Doll Show

Thank you to everyone for making this such a great show. Our education display looked fantastic with all the members dolls. And Kat did an amazing job displaying Ellowyne and all her outfits. There were numerous compliments on the professional job our club did for her outfits, many people believed they were Ellowynes factory clothes.

Doll Show is Almost Here!!

This is just a reminder to bring in movie themed dolls for the education display. We could use any dolls that you have. Please bring them to the Depot Friday morning. I will have tags out so you can write what your doll is.

We are meeting this Friday at 9 am to help set up. We are trying something new this year and are setting up our own tables. Hopefully this will insure they are in the correct spots. We could use all the help we can get Friday morning.

The Hogwarts crew, courtesy of Mandy, are catching everyone's attention, but they're stopping and looking at the rest. Thank you everyone for your contributions. If you're driving on the Parkway, stop by the library and check it out. We're in the main case on the right side after you enter.

Show Updates

The Bailey Cove library display has been disassembled, but the new display is up at the Main Library. I'll post pictures in a few days.

Kath and I visited the Roundhouse last week and are pleased to report that improvements have been made. The Ladies Room stalls all have new latchable doors that close properly, and a rather large air moving system has been installed - huge ducts with lots of vents and it kicked on as soon as we adjusted the thermostat. The building will probably be miserable when we first turn the system on because the default setting is 95degrees, but it should improve quickly after that.

The Show is officially technically sold out and Barbara has a waiting list going. We have a dozen or more vendors who are either brand new to us or haven't been to Huntsville in several years, so we'll have lots of interesting and different stuff.

Stop by the main library to see the new exhibit - Mandy's Hogwarts crew are front and center and we had folks stopping to ooooh and aaaah before we were even done setting up.
